About Us
Editor:
Jerry Brown is the primary editor for GemTrails.com. He and wife Steph are rockhounds and lapidary enthusiasts who spend their winter months traveling the southwest and summers in central Oregon and the northwest with their dogs Timmy and Cleo. Wherever they go, they are usually looking for rocks and when they are home they are cutting, polishing and tumbling their treasures. Before meeting and marrying Steph, Jerry kept an online journal of his RV adventures: Travels with Timmy. Lately Steph has been keeping up a blog of their most recent travels.
Webmaster:
I take care of the site software, hosting and other technical details. I also hope to contribute if I can ever find time to get back out to some of the sites. We used the Gem Trails books without much luck many years ago when our kids were small. As the internet became popular the idea of traveling around, locating sites, and updating the material on a website began to look like a fun and interesting project. I first registered the GemTrails.com in 2006 with that in mind. However, I never found the time to make it happen.
With Jerry as editor, advances in easy to use publishing software, and declining hosting charges this seems like a great time to finally make it happen. It will be fun to watch.
I am retired, but work with my son to create small, income producing websites built around subjects we find interesting. My very first site, published in 1998, was based on my mobile home repair experince, and continues to be popular. Thanks for visiting. Paul Krause
