Directions: We had some trouble locating this site 2 years ago. The Gem Trails map indicates avoiding the first dirt road after passing Eagle Rock, but in fact it turned out to be the first turn after the rock. Almost immediately you have to turn left over a cattle guard to enter the BLM area below Eagle Peak. As the book notes, 4WD is recommended for the last mile.

Notes: We didn’t find any moss or dendritic agate, but we did locate some nice specimens of delicate angel wing agate in tailings below the rim rock. We didn’t do any hard rock digging, but did see additional angel wing in small caves along the ledges.
