Directions: We found the map in Gem Trails a little confusing, but made it to Site A OK. The road to Site B was marked private property, so we did not continue on to that site. To reach Site C, we backtracked to the paved road, turned right and followed the road over the bridge and out into the BLM lands. There were many rutted roads and trails, but we tried to stay with the one that looked most used. It leads up to some low hills and eventually we found the diggings.
Date: September 2007
Notes: At Site A we dug a bucketful of colorful agate with reds, yellows and denim blues. Some were large enough to cut, but none more than 2 or 3 lbs. It took some patience and a little digging to find good material. At Site C the first dig we encountered was obviously a private claim, but we obtained a good quantity of plume agate at the second dig from prior excavations. We also chiseled some out of a large seam.
