Directions: This site is now within a vast OHV (Off-Highway Vehicle) Recreation Area, with trails going everywhere. When we were there, a rally was in progress, making things even more interesting. We don’t think we located Site A, but we may have located Site B. We followed a large wash west for perhaps a mile to some low hills. 4WD is a good idea for crossing or traveling in washes.

Notes: We never found “well formed” petrified wood anywhere, but at Site B we did find numerous fragments along with an 8″ long fossil oyster shell. We also found one nice 4or 5 lb chunk of rose quartz near the wash.
